It was great to see our local Penistone East Councillors, John Wilson and Robert Barnard, with Miriam Cates MP joining the festivities at Cawthorne Show over the weekend. Local vendors, activity providers and even our Penistone FM team came together to put on a brilliant show that provided a day of entertainment for all.
It’s fantastic to see our communities coming back together as we begin to enjoy local celebrations once again. Summertime shows and fairs have always been such a central part of life in villages and towns across our area, and so it’s good to see residents, families and businesses fully embracing them now that restrictions have been lifted.
The turnout at Cawthorne Show was testament to the hard work of local people, councillors and volunteers which made the event such a success. It’s so encouraging to see how supportive and engaging communities like the one in Cawthorne are.
Events like these are so important to keeping people connected with each other, and so we are looking forward to other upcoming fairs, fetes and galas that will be taking place across Barnsley, Penistone and Stocksbridge.
Please do keep in touch, and don’t forget about the upcoming Penistone Show which will be taking place on Saturday 11th September.
